Nirvana Shatakam Lyrics and Meaning -निर्वाण षटकम्‌

Nirvana Shatakam Lyrics and Meaning

निर्वाण षटकम्‌

Nirvana Shatakam is a wonderful creation by Shankaracharya. Nirvana Shatakam reveals the dualistic nature of spiritual being as a human.  Nirvana Shatakam reveals that 99% of our self is non-form that which can't be seen and touch.

Nirvana Shatakam further elaborates that not only we are formless but a joy that can't be described. The joy is 'sat-chit-anand'. The feeling can only be felt by an extra-ordinary 'Yogi' who has transcended each and every limit of form as well as formless.

Such an art of existence can only be felt by a person who has merged himself with 'Shiva' or the true essence of Brahmand. Nevertheless, practicing Nirvana Shatakam helps a person to get the glimpse of the joy which every 'Yogi' craves to deserve in his life.

The great Adi Shankara (first Shankaracharya) of the eighth century summarized the entirety of Advaita Vedanta (non-dualistic philosophy) in six stanzas.

This is one of the rare stotras written by Adi Shankara Bhagwat Pada identifying himself the Lord Shiva and clearly explaining his theory of non-dualism. It is mellifluous and has remarkable tempo.

There is a story that one of his disciples started saying Shivoham like the Acharya without understanding its significance.

The Acharya visited the black smith’s house and happily drank one tumbler of molten iron and ordered the disciple to do so. Naturally he was not able to it.

The Acharya told him that as for himself the molten iron or ice-cold water are not different because he has realized that he is no different from Lord Shiva, and till the disciple attains that state, there is no point in his repeating Shivoham i.e. “I am Shiva”.

A Date with Night in Romance

A Date with Night in Romance

It is drizzling
And, cool wind is shoaking the heats
Trees dancing , giving music and beats
The leaves are humming and the peaceful night telling stories!

Listen ! The dark night has alot to tell
Before the clouds burst into the rail.
The stories of kings and Queens
Kingdoms and civilizations
The struggle of human race
The failures of man kind.
The Geometry of eath
The secrets of space
The astonishing astronomy
The eternity of time
The length of space
The endless fantasizes
The billions dreams
And, what not.

I told the night, Have pity,
if you think thy mine
Let me revist the days that went past mine
If you are pleased take me down the memory lane
Tell me when i lived and when i cried.
Sing my glories , and tell the laurels of my big liitle wins
And remind me when and what i missed.
Let me relive the moments when i held my dreams

Take me to the wonder- age (childhood)
And weave the majic
Let me believe ,
Everything is perfectly where that needs to be there.
Let me have a hope ,
Let the kingdom of truth and good men triumph.

Lets go back to the place when we assembled
Me,you and the friends that are now scattered.
Bring back to life those unending chattings
Inconclusive thoughts, the undecided topics!

Tonight i am your audience and lover in disguise
Disclose me my secrets that i kept them tight
When i grew into a teen so young
What fantasies that kept me enthralled.
What were the dreams that kept me awake.
Tell me when i looked real and when i did a fake.

Reconstruct the days and narrate the story
That's still a savoury
Replay the melody of the voice ,
Freeze the look on the face i stared
Take me to the days ,the butterfly in the stomach still flutters

If you are pleased, tell me the stories of mine
Tell me when i lived and when i cried.
Sing my glories , and tell the laurels of my big liitle wins
And tell me when and what i missed.
